Accessibility statement
The Creative Center «Wings» believes that everyone should be able to take part in our festivals and use this website, including people with disabilities. We have worked to make the site readable by screen readers, operable from the keyboard, and usable by people with visual, hearing and motor impairments.
What the site complies with
The site has been built to meet the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013 and Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the international WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.
The adaptation was carried out by the site developer. The center has not yet commissioned an external audit by a certified service accessibility consultant (מורשה נגישות שירות); this statement will be updated once such an audit is carried out.
Adjustments on the site
- The whole site works from the keyboard: you can move through a page with Tab, and the current element always has a visible outline.
- Each page starts with a «Skip to content» link that appears on the first press of Tab.
- The markup is semantic: headings follow in order, and menus, forms and dialogs carry roles and labels for screen readers.
- Every image has a text description; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and background contrast has been checked automatically and meets Level AA.
- Form fields are labelled, required fields are marked, and the result of a submission is given as text, not by colour alone.
- The site adapts to the screen size and works at up to 200% zoom without loss of content.
- If the «reduce motion» system setting is on, animations are switched off automatically.
- Each language version declares its language and writing direction — Hebrew is rendered right to left.
The accessibility panel
The accessibility button sits in the bottom left corner of every page. It opens with the mouse or from the keyboard, and the settings you choose are kept as you move between pages and language versions. The panel lets you:
- make the text larger or smaller (from 90% to 160%);
- increase the spacing between lines and letters;
- switch to a plain, readable sans-serif font;
- turn on a dark theme, a high-contrast mode or a greyscale mode;
- highlight every link and button;
- stop animation and movement on the page;
- turn on an enlarged cursor;
- turn on a reading mask that highlights the line under the pointer;
- reset every setting with one button.
What is not yet accessible
We are still working on accessibility. The following limitations are known today:
- The festival regulations are published as PDF files that are not adapted for screen readers. We will send the text of any regulations in an accessible format on request.
- Video recordings of performances in the galleries have no captions and no audio description.
- The route maps and the video player are embedded Google services, whose accessibility is outside our control.
- Photographs in the galleries have short captions; we will send a detailed description of any particular image on request.
